About Greene Street
Greene Street had its beginnings on Lancaster Ave in Bryn Mawr, PA in the form of Renaissance Consignment Shop. Founded by Jim and Diane Mastrilli along with their daughter Donna in 1990. Renaissance had a fun “mom and pop” vibe and as a result, the new owners instantly became a welcome part of the community. The warm and friendly atmosphere coupled with the excellent Main Line location proved to be the right combination for instant success.
After the death of their parents in the early 90′s-Donna teamed up with her sister Lynne to form Greene Street Consignment. Using Lynne’s experience in clothing manufacturing and retail in New York, and Donna’s hands on business know-how and existing customer base-they set out to create a consignment experience similar to that of shopping for new clothing.
The first Greene Street opened at 700 South Street in 1997 in a light filled corner space with an urban vibe. Immediately, many customers could not tell that it was a consignment shop, even mistaking the merchandise for new clothing! With sleek modern fixtures and professional caliber merchandising as the centerpiece- Greene Street set a new tone for consignment shopping. Together, Lynne and Donna have grown Greene Street to a six store consignment chain. In addition to their existing stores. they also have many new and exciting projects in the works.
